This year, we’re gathering in the heart of the White Mountains of New Hampshire for a long Halloween weekend filled with spirit, storytelling, laughter, connection, workshops, food, friendship, and a little bit of beautiful weirdness.
Welcome to Halloweekend.
Hosted by psychic medium and author Josh Simonds, this immersive four-night retreat takes place at the historic Applebrook Inn in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Together, we’ll spend the weekend exploring spirituality, intuition, creativity, the mystery of life and death, and the playful magic that Halloween seems to unlock in all of us.

And this retreat comes with a story.
About twenty-five years ago, long before the podcast, the events, the books, or the public work, Josh had the one physical ghost encounter of his life at the very same inn where this retreat is now being held. That experience would eventually become one of the stories featured in his book, When We Die We Come Up for Air.
When searching for a venue for this year’s retreat, seeing the Applebrook Inn listed was obvious serendipity. What an invitation.
Each participant attending Halloweekend will also receive a signed copy of When We Die We Come Up for Air, featuring seven strange stories and seventy-seven poems exploring grief, mystery, love, spirit, and the strange beauty of being alive.
This retreat is designed for open-minded people with curious hearts. You do not need to be an expert in spirituality, mediumship, Tarot, or anything else to attend. You simply need a willingness to show up, participate, and experience the weekend alongside a wonderful group of people.

FULL DISCLOSURE: This floor is the setting of my story, The Cold Breath of Arrogance, that happened to me about 25 years ago and featured in my 2023 book, When We Die We Come Up For Air. The Applebrook Inn is the setting of my one true ghost story that’s ever happened to me, and right here on the 3rd floor. Part of the weekend experience will be learning how to make friends and to appease any sort of energy we might encounter, including any that’s currently making a home at the Applebrook.
